The Shakhunts Brothers are a duo of musicians, songwriters, and performers. Their work blends jazz, chanson, and pop music with national influences. Arsen is the vocalist, while Alexander plays clarinet. Together, the brothers play several instruments: Arsen plays keyboards and Alexander plays brass instruments. Arsen was born on March 1, 1979, in Mary, Turkmenistan, and Alexander was born on March 8, 1969, in the same city. Arsen is ten years younger than Alexander. In 1998, he and Alexander moved to Ashgabat, where they formed a duo. They have toured Russia, the CIS, Israel, the USA, and other countries. Arsen writes most of the songs, but Alexander also actively participates in the creation of the material, particularly when working on the arrangements.
